CHANGING A FILED FLIGHT PLAN
If a flight plan has to be changed after it has been filed and is active, then the software helps you by examining the changes made and choosing the correct action to ensure that the changed flight plan is properly handled.
- Click an active (green) flight plan in the flight summary screen to view the Manage menu.
- Click Change.
The Route, W&B, Fuel and Crew screen (Step 1) for the flight plan opens. A banner at the top shows that Update mode is operating. - Make the required changes to the flight plan details.
Any part of the flight plan can be changed in this mode. - Click AutoRoute if making changes to the route settings, and click Validate to check that the modified flight plan is valid.
- When all changes are made, click Update.
A Flight Plan Update dialog is displayed, which confirms the changes you've made and describes the action that will be taken.
The action required depends on the items changed. Some changes only need saving locally with updates to the briefing pack. Other changes require a Change message to be sent to the air traffic control authorities, or that the flight plan is cancelled and refiled. The required actions are automatically performed. Refer to this online article for further information. - If you want to go ahead and make the changes to the filed flight plan, click Update in the dialog; otherwise, click Cancel .
- Assuming the changed flight plan is acknowledged and not rejected, then download an updated version of the briefing pack.
