AUTOROUTER SETTINGS
If your account has Autorouter enabled (go to Settings in Account and Settings to check if this option is selected), then you can control how routes are calculated by adjusting the Autorouter settings.

You can enter three types of area to be avoided when planning this route:
Multiple areas can be entered, separated by commas. Click ? to display details of the areas that can be included, and click Reset to remove any selected areas. |
Autoroute optimization |
Choose whether Autorouter calculates the Shortest route or uses current wind speeds at different flight levels to calculate the Wind-optimized Fastest Route (if enabled on your account). |
Sharp Turn Avoidance |
Check the box to select this option. This forces Autorouter to only calculate routes which avoid the need to make sharp turns (greater than 80 degrees). This may result in a longer route but it is recommended for the comfort and safety of passengers and crew, and to ensure approval by air traffic control authorities. (Note: Sharp turns in SIDs and STARs will still be permitted if this option is selected.) |
Calculate Step Climb |
Check the box to select this option (if available on your account). Autorouter calculates a step climb profile to optimise fuel efficiency if the aircraft is at its maximum take-off weight and cannot climb directly to the required flight level. |
