CREATING AND USING FLIGHT TEMPLATES

You can create a flight template which contains all the information needed to file a flight plan for a specific route. The template can then be quickly used to create and file a new flight plan. This is useful if you regularly file flight plans along the same route using the same aircraft.

Note: This option is only available on request; contact your sales team.

Refer to this online article for further information.

Creating a New Flight Template

  1. From the main menu, select Flights and then Templates.
  2. Click New.
  3. Enter a name for the new flight template (letters and digits only, no characters).
  4. Enter the required information for the flight plan.
You can use a direct (DCT) route or click AutoRoute to calculate a full route. You can validate the route in a flight template but you cannot optimise it.
  5. Enter an estimated off-block time (EOBT) for the flight template.
The template assumes a flight time 24 hours in the future when planning the route; this is amended when the template is used to create an actual flight plan.
  6. Click Save.
The new flight template is displayed in the Templates screen. You can also click New to save and use the template immediately to create a new flight plan.

Using a Flight Template

  1. From the main menu, select Flights and then Templates.
  2. Select an option to view a specific set of templates:
    -
Click All to view all available templates on your account.
Click Private to view only templates you have created.
Note: If you are assigned a Master, Dispatcher, Junior Dispatcher or Super Crew role then your templates are available to everyone. You can also see everyone's private templates by clicking Crew.
    - Click Ops to view all templates excluding private templates.
Note: You can sort templates by clicking the column headings in the table.
  3. When you have found the template you want to use, click .
A new flight screen is opened at Step 1 which uses the data from the template and a flight date selected for the same day. The estimated off-block time (EOBT) will either be the same as in the template, or set to the current time if the template time has already passed.
  4. Amend the flight time and date as required, check that the details in Step 1 are correct, optimise the route if necessary, and proceed to complete and file the flight plan in the usual way.
