CONFIGURING AN AIRCRAFT

Once your account is set up, you must configure one or more aircraft to use in your flight plans.

IMPORTANT: Correctly configuring an aircraft is essential if a safe and valid flight plan is to be filed. Please consult your support team if you are unsure about the value of any of these settings for your aircraft.

You can copy the settings for an existing aircraft on your account by double-clicking the entry in the Aircraft menu and clicking Copy at the bottom of the screen. A new aircraft settings menu opens; enter a new aircraft registration, amend any other details as needed and click Save.

You can search for a specific aircraft using the registration, reference and aircraft type by clicking the  icon in the Aircraft menu.

To configure a completely new aircraft:

  1. Click on the Aircraft drop-down menu (available under More in the main menu).
  2. Click Add Aircraft to enter the Aircraft Wizard.
  3. Enter the aircraft registration and click Next.
  4. Select the manufacturer and model from the drop-down lists, and click Next
Enter ZZZZ if the manufacturer is not in the list. This step can be skipped if preferred, but once the aircraft is saved, these cannot be altered.
Some models may be marked with an asterisk and highlighted in green; the software contains comprehensive data for these aircraft on the fuel flow at all altitudes, temperatures and loadings in the aircraft's operating manual. You can use these models with the advanced template in the Fuel & Performance menu (business users only).
  5. Click either the standard aircraft template or a members aircraft template (where available) and click Next.
Before selecting the template, change the units used to display the cruising fuel consumption by selecting from the drop-down list.
Note: Members templates may give more accurate fuel calculations if you fly at different altitudes from the standard template, particularly if comprehensive data are not available for the selected aircraft.
  6. Configure the aircraft using the options listed on the screen (described in the table below).
When a setting has been correctly configured, a tick is displayed. Errors are indicated by a red warning symbol .
Click Save at the bottom of the screen at any time to save your settings (this will collapse the sub-menus).
