SETTINGS
Setting |
Option |
Details |
Autorouting |
Autorouter Enabled |
This indicates whether you can use Autorouter to prepare your flight plans (for IFR flights only). |
Calculate Step Climb |
Check the box to select this option (if available on your account). A step climb profile is calculated to optimise fuel efficiency if the aircraft is at its maximum take-off mass (weight) and cannot climb directly to the required flight level. |
|
Sharp Turn Avoidance |
Check the box to select this option. This forces the software to only calculate routes which avoid the need to make sharp turns (greater than 80 degrees). This may result in a longer route but it is recommended for the comfort and safety of passengers and crew, and to ensure approval by air traffic control authorities. (Note: Sharp turns in SIDs and STARs will still be permitted if this option is selected.) |
|
You can enter three types of area to be avoided when planning all routes:
Multiple areas can be entered, separated by commas. Refer to this online article for further details. |
||
Auto SID |
Select from the options available (Off, Shortest, Longest) to control which departure or arrival routes are preferentially used to calculate flight routes and fuel requirements. These default settings can be overruled when calculating a specific route. Note: The Autorouter selects the shortest or longest route that meets the selected flight level requirements. |
|
Auto STAR |
||
Airspace Layer (Mobile device) |
Class A Class B etc. |
This setting controls the appearance of the airspace layer in your mobile device (if enabled on your account). Click a Class or Type of airspace to set the colour and styling, and whether or not they are included in the airspace layer, then click Apply. |
Advanced Aircraft Performance |
Advanced Performance Enabled |
This indicates whether you can use the advanced aircraft template for calculating fuel requirements (see Configuring an Aircraft ). This option is available for Business package users. |
Auto Insert Crossing Points |
Off 10 degrees 5 degrees |
Select the required option to insert reference points at intervals of 5 or 10 degrees for additional cross-checking of position and fuel status on long direct flights. |
Runway Performance |
APG Runway Analysis Enabled |
This indicates whether you can use APG analysis (available for Business package users). When enabled, runway analysis briefings can be retrieved automatically when a flight plan is filed. |
Display in Menu |
Check this option to display Runway Performance as a menu option when in the flight plan management menu. |

|
Full routing to alternates |
Check this option if you require full airways routing to your flight alternates. |
|
"Departure Alternate" [max minutes] |
Enter the maximum number of minutes of flying time to the departure alternate. This determines the radius of single engine cruising distance within which the departure alternate must lie when a flight route is calculated. |
|
Wind Settings |

|
Use MORA instead of MEA |
Use Minimum Off Route Altitude instead of Minimum Enroute Altitude, depending on preference or operational requirements. |

Omit Estimated Time Enroute calculations from the flight log. |
|
Do not calculate ETA |
Omit Estimated Time of Arrival calculations from the flight log. |
|
Use magnetic HDG/TRK |
Use magnetic heading/track instead of true heading/track. Generally recommended except in northern latitudes where relative position of magnetic north may change over short distances. |
|
Do not calculate fuel to alternates |
Omit fuel calculations for flights to alternates from the flight log. |
|
